The English Wall is a news aggregator designed to collect the most relevant daily information related to the world of English learning.

On the home page are listed new and relevant titles related to this specific world.
Filters allow users to choose from the latest to the oldest titles according to their interests
(for 24 hours | 7 days | 30 days | 360 days | latest). Users are able to vote for a title and give their comments about it. The only way to do so is, first, to register online.

On the left hand side of the screen, there are three available options:

  • My account: allows users to complete their access details;
  • Share your link: allows users to share a title with the English wall community;
  • Log out: allows users to finish their online session or to change account.

At the top of the page features the latest titles (less than 12 hours old) that can be seen by users when they visit the site. The number of results is also visible on the right hand side of the screen. It gives users the number of titles available within their respective selection.

Vote: For a title Only users who are registered are able to vote for a title by clicking on the yellow smiley. For a comment Only users who are registered are able to vote for other users' comments by clicking on the yellow smiley placed on the left hand side of the comment's title.

Report: Users are able to click on the report button to report any irrelevant title. An automatic message will be sent to the English Wall administrator to solve the pending issue rapidly. A report button is displayed within the comment section, which allows users to report any irrelevant comment.


Within the comment section
Edit : Users who have written a comment are able to edit it to modify it.
Reply : Users are able to reply to a comment that has been posted by another user and are able to give their own opinion.


Within the title section
Edit : Users who have posted a title are also able to edit it to modify its title or its URL address.
Delete : Users are able to delete their own titles.
Pages : Users are able to move from page to page by clicking at the bottom of each one.


Rules and regulations on the use of the English Wall:

In Submissions

  • Please indicate the source of the title
  • Do not make the title stand out by using upper case or exclamation marks
  • Indicate the nature of the document by using .pdf or .video if it's a film at the end of the title
  • Do not show the name of the site in your title (it will be shown within the url anyway)
  • Go straight to the point by using a short title

In Comments

  • Be politically correct and polite. Think and write objectively and don't say things you wouldn't say in front of persons.
  • Don't bring value judgement, don't give free criticism such as: "it is a stupid comment". Set forth your point of view.
  • Please don't sign comments, as they're already signed with your username.
